Cryil Menard

July 8, 2020

We are saddened to announce that Cyril Ménard, born in Field Ontario, passed away on Wednesday July 8, 2020 at Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland. He died peacefully from a long standing heart condition, four days after celebrating his 89th birthday. A few members of his family rejoiced with him outdoors and others were able to attend the celebration on-line.

Cyril, a dear husband, father, father-in-law, grand-father, brother, brother-in law, uncle and friend is survived by his wife Thérèse (née Loiselle), son Claude (Shelley), daughters, Gisèle (Tim) and Diane (Brian), and pre-deceased by sons, Gilles and Gilbert. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Nicolette (Dane) and Jennie (Harlan), Steve (Tamara) and Gidgett (Chris), and great-grandchildren: Téah, Liliana, and Victoria.

Cyril spent most of his working life as a miner in the Sudbury area while residing in Chelmsford. Once retired, he delved into woodworking in his ‘shop’ and dedicated 10 years of his life as a caregiver for his wife afflicted with Alzheimer.

He is dearly loved, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him for his joie de vivre, his kindness, and his love of family and friends.

Cremation has taken place at the Innisvale Cemetery and Crematorium. There will be no commemorative gatherings.

An extra special thank you goes out to the compassionate, caring staff and volunteers at Georgian Residences in Penetanguishene and at the Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland.
